Summer Course of chamber music -
application information

We are recognised as one of the best value chamber music courses for the following instruments: piano, harpsichord, violin, viola, cello, double bass, clarinet, oboe, cor anglais, flute, bassoon and brass instruments French horn, trumpet, trombone.

Fee structure; residential and non-residential rates

The course takes place over 5 days (5th-9th August) with an optional extra discounted day prior to the Course proper. This course starts with registration from about 10.00am: playing and coaching as soon as players assemble.

We have been able to offer a good rate for non-residents, including the optional extra day during the afternoon at no extra cost. In particular there is a special rate for non-residential bookings that are for the whole length of the course.

Breakfast on Monday 5th August is only available to those residents taking the optional. extra day

The fees are based on a daily rate from registration on the day of arrival, (including lunch, afternoon cup of tea, dinner, overnight bed and breakfast and morning coffee). For residential participants. room checkout is at breakfast-time on Friday 9th August and participants may use the main music rooms and the course ends with lunch on the Friday.​

Residential rates:

Full course - £769 (not including optional extra day on 4th August)

Optional extra day 4th August - £69
this time to include dinner, as well as bed and breakfast, use of all the musical facilities.

​

We have made a special arrangement to assist participants whose travel arrangements require it, or who wish to come during the afternoon by arrangement before the official start of the course to settle in, have the opportunity to play with colleagues as they arrive. The cost includes dinner bed and continental breakfast.

Non-residential rates:

Full Course (calculated as per calendar day) - a special rate of £472

Optional extra day

Arrangements can be made for you to come in during the afternoon without charge; please ask.

​

This includes, as for the residential rate above, the use of all facilities and opportunities to practice, play and meet other colleagues.

Financial Terms

Please apply on the application form (see under ‘application form’ on website). But please do not send any money with the application. A 30% deposit will be required but banking and payment details will be contained in the invoice that will be emailed or sent to you after our receipt of your application form.

If you are unable to attend a booked course, the following cancellation fees will be retained/payable:

Prior to 31st May £10 per day

​1st June to 1st July £50 per day​

After 1st July: £100 per day
